Feature Redundancy: Homepage vs. Side Menu

The homepage and side menu currently include the same feature, resulting in redundancy. To streamline user experience and enhance interface efficiency, it may be worth considering removing the duplicate feature from one of these areas.

Extra Step to Access Ticket Status in QMS App

The current QMS app design requires users to access the side menu bar to view their ticket number status after obtaining a ticket. This extra step introduces unnecessary friction, as users have to navigate away from their main screen to check the queue status, which can disrupt the flow and lead to a less efficient user experience.
Streamlining the Homepage for Enhanced Usability

Based on user research and feedback analysis, I streamlined the homepage by removing a duplicate feature page that caused redundancy and potential confusion. In its place, I introduced three highly utilized features: Recent Visits, Favorite Stores, and QR Scan directly onto the homepage. This design decision prioritizes user convenience by surfacing frequently accessed features, reducing navigation effort, and enhancing the overall user experience.
Usability Issue: Hidden Key Features in QMS App

The current version of the QMS app places the main features under a menu tab, creating a critical issue where users must take additional steps to access their most frequently used features.

In the current QMS app design, users must navigate through the side menu to view their queue number, adding an unnecessary step. To enhance usability and reduce friction, the redesigned QMS app displays the user’s ticket number, estimated wait time, current serving number, and store name directly on the homepage. This change simplifies the user journey by providing essential information upfront, ensuring a more efficient and seamless experience every time the app is launched.
